Nissan sends a lifeline to ailing Mitsubishi Motors. Falling sales and a falsified fuel economy scandal did not deter Renault-Nissan from becoming a controlling shareholder in Mitsubishi Motors. The rival automaker put down an estimated $2.2 Billion investment into the future of Mitsubishi. Carlos Ghosn of Nissan called the deal a “potential win-win” for both companies.
How close to production is Tesla’s Model 3? After receiving over 325,000 deposits for their upcoming Model 3, one would think Tesla’s newest electric car was well down the road on its path to customer delivery. The truth may shock you. An LA Times column gives insight on the subject and cites a document which states that the final-form for the Model 3 doesn’t yet exist and there could be “unanticipated deviations from the expected price point, vehicle features or performance characteristics.” Meaning that claims made during the March 31 announcement could be subject to change.
A prototype Camaro Z/28 crashed at the ‘Ring yesterday. Vehicle testing is serious, and can be dangerous business. Recent video taken at the Nurburgring shows that Chevrolet was out with a new prototype Z/28 when the unexpected incident occurred. Accidents happen and we’re glad no one was hurt. While the damage to the car did not seem extensive, we also don’t think that the dent will buff out either.
